Introduction

United Kingdom, the UK, Great Britain you call it like you wish ! And we know even if we are not British that the UK is composed of Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Virgin Islands and Gibraltar, however what we still cannot understand is the UK's decision of the Brexit, that is to say leaving the European Union and Schengen space. The reason why so many people including British citizens are upset with that is that it cannot be like that with UK ! UK is a country with a rich culture, an advanced knowledge on so many fields and the central place for market transactions. because of the UK America speaks English, as well as a lot of people in the world, English is still the language that is mostly used internationnally for business. But the decision of the UK of leaving the European Union is, we believe a huge mistake that has to be reviewed by the UK governments. We know that the underlying cause of the Brexit is not the "hidden" belief of British people being better or very different than Europeans, instead we believe that this decision finds its root cause in the immigration problem that is still ongoing nowadays

The real cause of the Brexit

when people found out that boats full of immigrants were coming on the coasts of the UK, people and governments concluded that the cause of it was the European Union and its Schengen policy. Yes, this is true that the Schengen legislation is totally and absolutely permissive for anyone willing to enter the European Union, however we believe that European Union would be more able to deal with the immigrants with 28 countries instead of 27. However we know also that on the short-middle term, by doing the Brexit, the UK is more able to enforce and decide its own immigration policy. As we can see in the UK immigration website, there are three main visa that we can get without too much criterias : Health and Care Worker visa, Skilled Worker visa and High Potential Individual (HPI) visa. So if you don't work in health and care, and you don't have a job offer, you have only one option which is the High Potential Individual (HPI) visa, which is very strict in terms of criterias, so you would be able to have this visa only if you are perceived as a high potential individual, that is to say if you have graduated from a really exceptional worldwide known university, such as PSL (Paris Sciences Lettres) or Harvard University, which are very selective universities and let's already say that it is at least not easy to get into these universities.

Inverting the problem

Let's follow their reasoning, let's say that you have graduated from Paris Sciences Lettres, a well known French university coming from the merge of the most elitist, selective universities in France, including Sorbonne and Polytechnique, well do you really want to immigrate to the UK ? Well if you are from a top worldwide university, then it might be possible that you really want to come to the UK. Without any hesitation, we have been to London and we can say it is magnificent, wonderful and extraordinary, more than this it is full of businesses and opportunities, however you have to know that it won't be that easy to buy a house in central London near the place you will work in for t a simple reason: housing prices have really exploded, so you can eat for £5 but you will rend for £2000 per week which is terrribly huge and we already can say that houses are sold in millions of pounds and not in hundreds of thousands, except if you really dig, but it would require tremendous amount of money to buy a house for you in the UK. And Brexit obviously made things worse !

Conclusion

So of course, having strict entry criterias may allow to the UK to let enter only very talended people to the country, regardless of their nationality, however we must underline the fact that the UK has still a lot of criminality and the security in London is still not perfect. We believe that the Brexit will decrease such criminality and we believe that maybe for the UK interests, Brexit could be a solution, but by doing that they are disconnecting themselves from Europe. Also We have to remark that the workforce may come for outside European Union as the European workforce will likely find an opportunity in the Schengen space, for the reason that it is simpler to get a job in Schengen when you have a EU passport that to find one in the UK, get the visa and enter the countries. We don't mention that recently the UK have reinforced their entry criterias by adding this new ETA (Electronic travel authorization) which is a type of e-visa that would be required for tourists for example. Maybe one day everything will get better...
